Walk of the Month

We have teamed up the the National Parks Association (N.P.A) to give you the opportunity to participate in a free guided bushwalk.

The 'Walk of the Month' is a great chance to try something new, or revisit an old favorite.

Its your choice. You can either....

  1. Join in a free guided walk, or
  2. Walk it yourself (with some friends).
Walk of the Month during February
Sphinx, Warrimoo and Bobbin Head tracks
Book in for a free guided walk on the Sat 25 Feb 2012, 10:00 AM (Register here)
Time: 4 hrs Walking time
Please allow extra time to rest and to explore
5.4 km NNE of Turramurra
Length: 9.6 km Walk Length
As this is a Circuit style walk, the 9.6 km includes the walking distance from the start around the loop and back to the start again
Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park
Climb: 499 m There is car access and parking near the start and end of this walk There is a bus stop within 2km of the start and end of this walk
Style: Circuit

This great walk starts at the Sphinx Memorial and loops around via Cowan Creek, exploring diverse environments as it changes altitude. There is an optional side trip to the Empire Marina and cafe for a recharge before the climb back up to the Sphinx. This walk provides some great water views of the Cowan Creek and the interesting rock formations along its shores.

Taronga Zoo to Balmoral Beach

Time: 3 hrs Walking time
Please allow extra time to rest and to explore
2.1 km SSE of Mosman
Length: 6.8 km Walk Length
As this is a One Way walk, the 6.8 km only includes the walking distance from the start to the end point
Sydney Harbour National Park
Climb: 328 m There is car access and parking near the start and end of this walk There is a bus stop within 2km of the start and end of this walk There is a ferry stop near the start of this walk
Style: One way

This walk explores a great section of Sydney Harbour. The walk starts with views of the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and spectacular views continue as you explore bushland and the bays along the way. The walk also explores a historic section of the harbour, including the fortifications at Bradley's Head and Chowder Bay. Some sections of this walk are closed at night. There are a few places to get food along the way, and many great places to eat your own packed lunch.
