There are alerts raised for Mount Kaputar National Park as at Thu, 28 Jan 2021 14:49:25 +1100Closed areas: No vehicle access to Summit lookout carpark
There is no vehicle access to Summit lookout carpark from Thursday 28 January 2021 until further notice, due to construction work. The road will be blocked off to vehicles from the junction of Kaputar Road and Summit Road, a 900m stretch. Pedestrian and bicycle access is permitted.
Penalties apply for non-compliance. For more information, contact the local NPWS office.
Other incidents: Gas barbecues out of order – Bark Hut campground
The gas barbecues at Bark Hut campground are currently out of order.
There is no park fire ban in place for Mount Kaputar National Park, so the woodfire barbecues can be used. Please bring your own firewood and matches. Alternatively, there are gas barbecues at Dawsons Spring campground.
Closed areas: Areas closed due to bushfire damage
Most of Mount Kaputar National Park is now open. However, the following areas are closed due to bushfire damage and will remain closed until it is safe to open them:
- Bundabulla circuit walking track
- Eckford lookout walk
- Mount Kaputar Summit walk
- West Kaputar lookout
